UPSTREAM was started by local doctors who found that many people, at various stages in their lives, need only a helping hand to revive their interests and enjoyment of life.
Upstream takes up the challenge to reduce inappropriate dependency on health and social care services, relieve depression, prolong active life, encourage people to improve their own health and well-being, build self-confidence and invigorate communities.
Upstream’s success has been independently evaluated by The Peninsula Medical School and recognised by Government Departments, Local Authorities and the participants and professionals themselves.
